About Sev's Favorite Flavors
​I opened Sev's Favorite Flavors because I've learned a lot about canine nutrition from my own dog, Sev. I've learned that a lot of our pet food isn't as healthy as we think it is. So, I started doing research.... a lot of research. We switched from kibble to raw food and he's doing so much better. He's not picky anymore and his digestive issues are gone. His coat is shinier and thicker, his teeth are always clean, and he has more energy.
Not all pets like eating a raw diet, which is why we can at least make sure we can add healthy treats, toppers and supplements to aid in our dog's health. We can add fur for fiber and better digestion, bone for thicker stools, necks and feet for cleaner teeth, etc. I hope you'll like the food as much as Sev does and I hope it will give your pets the same benefits as it did for him.
With his newfound energy, we take Sev on a lot of trips. When we're not outside hiking together, we go dog sledding in winter and bikejoring in spring/summer.
Meet the team
Paulien, Owner
My name is Paulien Steneker, born and raised in The Netherlands. I moved to the United States with my husband in July 2023 and have worked with dogs for over eleven years. I started working with dogs around 2013 as a trainee dog walker for Hondsdol Huisdierenservice in The Netherlands. In 2017, I moved to Amsterdam and completed 2 years of volunteer work for the DOA Amsterdam animal shelter.
Since 2020, I have been certified in The Netherlands via LOI as a Dog Instructor. In 2023, I completed re-certification for Dog First Aid course and am pursuing further development in Canine Nutrition, Service Dog training and Dog Sports. I’ve worked for three different dog training schools in the Netherlands, focusing on puppy, young dogs, and advanced courses. I have always held the mantra of “train the owner, not the dog.”

Sev, CEO/Treat Tester
Sev joined our family in October 2020, right before his sixth birthday on November 5th. I brought Sev home exactly one month before I met my husband.
​
He came to an apartment in The Netherlands that already had two cats living there. They bonded almost immediately, however, they were kept separate for the first few weeks to get used to each other. I took him on so many trips, from beaches to forests, to dog parks, to husky meetings!

In February 2021, I married my husband and moved to Germany with Sev and the two cats. Sev didn't enjoy the car ride, however, he got to live in one of the coolest places! We went on even more trips, he got to see the mountains, huge rivers, oceans, snow! What more could a husky want?
​
Well, in 2023 we moved again, this time to the United States! He hated the flight. We stayed in Virginia for a short while. It would all be worth it. Sev would get to go to his homeland: Alaska! True to his blood, he has joined a sledding team and now has a little sister he gets to run with.

Sev sadly passed away on July 24th 2024, 11 days after Numa passed away, due to abrupt pneumothorax.
Ken, Operations
Ken is a born adventurer. Born in the United States, he has spent most of his life overseas from exploring the jungles of Asia, the alps of Europe, all the way to the frigid frost of the Arctic. A graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for Finance, he loves crunching numbers and working the business. While working in Germany, we met in a little town in northern Netherlands. It was love at first sight.

Sev and our furry friends were his first pets at home but he has learned to love them as they love him. In short time, he learned very quickly the value of proper nutrition and treats for animals. He is thankful for everything that I have taught him.
Esra, CFO/Puzzle Tester
Esra and Numa were born on May 20th 2020 to a litter of five at my friends. These two have always been together, even when they were only a few days old. I've visited them since day one. In July 2020, they finally were old enough to live with me.

Esra has always been an extremely smart cat. She is always causing trouble but knows how to not be a headache. That's why she's our puzzle tester. She solves almost everything we give her. She tests everything new to if even the smartest cats and dogs can figure out the puzzles in store.

Numa, CMO/Treat Tester
Numa was always a comedic and affectionate cat. She pressed her nose up against ours, stole food off the counter or from the dishes in the sink, ran through the house chasing shadows, meowed when she wanted some food, growled whenever she got a fresh chicken heart or neck.
This is why Numa was our treat tester. She loved food.
Sadly, on July 13th 2024, she unexpectedly passed away due to heart disease.

In honor of her, we added a specialty product to help support everyone's cats: Chicken Hearts, as they were Numa's favorite treat.

Maya, Quality Control/Toy Tester
Maya is my first puppy. She was born on December 22, 2023 and joined our family soon after. It's wonderful as a dog trainer; I get to teach her everything from scratch.
​
She is clever and is a quick learner! We've started harness training her summer 2024 since she's six months old. She can't pull a sled yet but she loved running alongside Sev while bike-joring.
​​
Maya loves toys and food; she's willing to try anything. Since she's still a puppy who loves to gnaw on things, she's the best toy tester. If it can stand up to her, it will hold up against most dogs!
